Exhibition 150th Anniversary of Economic Relations

Task:

Conception and realization of the exhibition on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the economic relations between Japan and Germany as well as accompanying press and media relations

DIE PR-BERATER conceived, organized and realized the exhibition "150 Years Economic Partners. Economic Relations between Japan and North Rhine-Westphalia through the Ages" in the "NRW-Forum Dusseldorf" for the Japanese Chamber of Industry and Commerce Dusseldorf. Apart from the clients of the Japanese Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the exhibition partners NRW.INVEST and the Ministry of Economics of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia 31 companies and 12 institutions participated in the exhibition.

Realisation:

A multimedia-based and interactive display table, 25 exhibits and 55 bilingual exhibition panels convey a vivid impression to the broad public of how the joint trading changed everyday life in Japan and Germany. The exhibition took place in the "NRW-Forum Dusseldorf" from 21 to 28 May 2011. Further stops are in Berlin and Tokyo.

Design

Designing an Exhibition

Task:

Development of the design of the exhibition “150 years of Economic partnership. Economic partnerships between Japan and North Rhine-Westphalia in the course of time” at the NRW-Forum in Düsseldorf

DIE PR-BERATER developed a coherent design for the exhibition, which combined all elements of the exhibition and created a high recognition value. Included is a key visual and its adaptation for various uses, such as invitation flyers, posters, quiz cards, publicity material and banners, as well as the actual exhibition elements, especially the bilingual exhibition boards.

Realisation:

The entire design of the exhibition stands under the banner of partnership, cooperation and equal rank. The core motives of the design are two gearwheels, which emphasise the character of the economic partnership. According to their placemtn,  the gearwheels are accompanied by a Japanese, a German or a bilingual caption. The colours red and white create the connection to Japan, whereas the complementary green constitutes a fashionable component and creates the reference to North Rhine-Westphalia. The gearwheels are stylized and ordered like Japanese ornaments.
The flag-like shape of the exhibition boards is drawn from the classic vertical format of Japanese “Nobori” banners and allows for both sides to have equal captions with either Japanese or German text.

Press and photo opportunity

Collecting photo material

Task:

Development of picture motives and provision of press photos for the opening of the exhibition “150 years of Economic partnership”

DIE PR-BERATER developed image motifs for the press conference in the run-up to the exhibition and produced press photos for the exhibition opening.

Realisation:

The pictures for the press conference conveyed a first impression of the upcoming exhibition. The exhibits were chosen with the organisers, amongst them was one of the first fax machines on the German market and a photo shoot with Louis Kniffler (1827-1888), one of the early pioneers of the German-Japanese relations. The pictures of the exhibition opening were provided to the press via download.

Films and presentations

Interactive Expostion Table for 150th Anniversary of Economic Relations

Task:

Concept, editing and implementation of an interactive element of the exhibition for the incorporation of multimedia contents into the exhibition “150 years of Economic partnership”

Realisation:

DIE PR-BERATER DIE PR-BERATER developed an interactive exhibition table in which the whole content of the exhibition was summed-up. Selected photographs, videos and audio recordings were technically edited and included. The interactive table conveyed how the common trade changed the everyday life in Japan and Germany in an intuitively accessible way along a historical and thematic navigation.
