LAGA NRW - Consortium of the Communal Representatives of Migrants
- Press and Media Relations: Campaign against the NRW state government's intention
- Consulting and Concept Development: Guidelines for public relations
- Create public awareness of the NRW state government`s intention to curtail the right of integration councils in North Rhine-Westphalia to have a say.
The Government had refused to introduce a uniform regulation for the municipal representations of migrants in North Rhine-Westphalia. Representatives of all decisive actors from the Federal Ministry of the Interior up to the German Association of Cities had earlier pronounced clear recommendations in this direction. On the other hand the state government intended to withdraw the juridical basis in its current form (and with the current competence).
In May 2009 DIE PR BERATER supported the consortium of the communal representatives of migrants in North Rhine-Westphalia (LAGA NRW) in their protest against the state government. Within the scope of a pro bono action the agency developed a concept for political action. In about 40 towns in North Rhine-Westphalia the integration councils demonstrated in front of the town halls under the motto: "The government shows us the door." Thanks to the intensive press work in the run-up considerable feedback could be generated in the daily, online and weekly media.
